원리 및 특징
    직물질에 X선을 입사시키면 각각의 원자로부터의 산란파가 서로 간섭(干涉) 현상을 일으켜 특정한 방향으로만 회절파(X선회절)가 진행한다. 이것이 X선회절 현상이다. X선회절의 강도와 진행 방향은 물질을 구성하는 원자의 종류와 배열 상태에 따라 달라진다. 그러한 특징을 이용하여 X선회절을 조사함으로써 물질의 미세한 구조를 알 수 있다.
